Icon4 Hatchback build

Well I'm starting a build on my 93 civic hatch and what I was planning to do was b18b1 engine with a 7.5lb flywheel a built valvetrain a skunk2 intake, bigger throttle body, bigger injectors, a stage 2 clutch and an s4c tranny with a p70 ecu. What parts does anyone recommend for this build and if anyone thinks I missed anything on the list feel free to let me know. Any help would be nice.

Your going to build a nonvtec motor? Cool, not to discourage you but you cant rev that high unless you build the bottom end on an Ls block and you have No oil squirters. But you should do it and take pics and videos
What cams are you going to use?
Get a bigger fuel pump
Intake manifold
And a good header and exhuast

go LSVTEC. Honestly non-vtec builds dont make that much power. Unless boosted, and even then VTEC builds make more power.

Yeah I might go the vtec route I read that you also need a gsr waterpump which shouldn't add much to the price

why would he want to WASTE $3500 to make less horsepower than he would LSVTEC?

@OP: It would be alot faster. I've seen a built LSVTEC put down 200WHP

I've seen 230whp on tuning day.

Go LS/VTEC

the b18c1 head will give the motor more compression than the b16 head will. And they both flow almost the same, I would just go ahead and put the c1 head on the b18b...

Also, you should change the oil pump to a Gsr, I havn't heard of ppl changing the waterpump..

And the whole fuel pum thing that someone mentioned, you don't need to change the fuel pump, the stock one can handle spraying the fuel on an all motor build. Unless you just want to change it you won't have to though...

Oil pumps are around 90 or so. Get one for an OBD2 engine, they're cheaper for some reason and they fit. You need a GSR water pump because if you don't you'll have issues with cavitation and cooling issues as a result.

Go B20, they're cheap, or get a B18C1. The LS head won't flow as well as a VTEC and the block isn't meant to rev to 8k like the VTEC block is.

the b20 Vtec would be good, but if you're done set on the b18 then I would just build it.. If you would like to do high rev's just put some rod bolts in it and everything..

GSR heads are shorter than B16 and ITR heads so therefore they give you a higher compression ratio and you can easily put ITR cams in them. You will need both a GSR or ITR oil and water pump.

Ive never seen a LSVTEC put down 230WHP but im sure its possible. I've also not seen many LSVTEC's around here. Most people just swap B16's and GSR's and stay slow. Either that or they boost stock motors.
Built motors = win

You can also change out the pistons to some USDM ITR Pistons for almost 12:1 CR.

I'll try my luck with lsvtec I want something a bit different and where I live I don't think there are any lsvtec civic hatches. So it'd be making like 180 horse at the crank with a c1 head? I was going to get arp rod bolts as well because I heard the stock ls ones are junk , but all that should be like 700 then i still need axles for s4c tranny, a gsr engine mount and can someone tell me what other mounts I should use. And I need a clutch and 7.5lb flywheel. I'm thinking like a grand and I'll be done haha
