Default Long time VW owner, just picked up an Accord DD

Ok guys, i have always loved vw and i will always own one, but the chance came up and i got this killer deal on a 1997 Accord LX. It has 220,000 miles on it but it has a brand new clutch, suspension, brakes, etc.. i picked her up for $500. Here is the deal, i have recently learned, after lurking on this site for a few days, that honda engines are a lot easier and a lot cheaper to reach higher amounts of power. I want to make this DD a fun car to drive. I believe the car has the F22B2 engine in it but I dont quite know because i cannot read the engine stamp anymore.

I am looking to build another engine then swapping it in. I saw that post about the F23 vtec head swap on the F22a4 and that sort of interested me. I really dont want to swap in a H22. Are there any head swaps that i could do for my f22b2 or should i build it with some low boost.

help me out here guys.

straight boosting the F is always an option. as far as head swaps, you could do the f22b1 vtec head, but apparently that is one of the worst flowing heads. f23, h23 non vtec, f22a, any of those heads will "work". right now the g22, or the h22 head with f22 block, is probably the head swap with the best potential for high power.

ok does it matter what f22 block i could use with the h22 head..

like will the what f22... (version) will work with what h22... (version)

Also what model and year cars did the f22 motor and the h22 motors come in.

as far as i know, any f (not the s2k f20c) will fit on any h, they all have their own little quirks like head gaskets, water pumps, or whatever else. if you check the FAQ there is info from people who have done them so you know for sure. i think somebody used the f22b2 like you have.

since you are OBDII, you'll need either an OBDII head or a conversion harness.

f22ax came in 90-93 accords and 92-95 prelude s
f22b1 was 94-97 accord ex
f22b2 was 94-97 accord dx, lx, se

h22s came in 92-95 prelude vtec and all newer preludes. also the japanese accord SIR
