Default Taking off from a stop, engine bogging/hesitating.

I roll up to a stop sign.
Come to a complete stop.
Accelerate in first gear and engine bogs/hesitates, and I have to immediately step on the clutch and rev the motor a little to achieve a higher RPM to, honestly, avoid embarrassment lol.

But from a complete stop, if I rev the motor to 2k RPM's and then take off, the take off is fine. No hesitation.

it's spark or fuel related. When was the last time you did a tune-up ?

I was thinking the same thing. I just bought the car, but when I test drove it, there was no bogging/hestitation whatsoever.

I decided to replace the distributor cap & rotor, valve cover gasket kit and spark plug tube seals, and distributor wires.

I believe an oil change and new NGK spark plugs will be next on the list.

I believe it may be this also since there is hesitation around 3k: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-prelude-4/no-more-3k-hesitation-better-gas-milage-smoother-partial-thottle-response-2016969/

I looked at the EGR valves, and it looks like they were already tampered with, JB welded I guess.

What kind of tune-up would you recommend?

Start off by replacing your plugs and wires., then replace fuel filter using OEM Honda. Do you notice this happening in generally hot days ?

Well its summer and everyday in Cali is hot lol. When I first start the car, pull out of my garage, and drive off, I won't notice it. But once I get to the 2nd stop sign, literally 30 seconds later, I'll take off and notice the hesitation/bogging in the below 3k range.

ngk plugs or the new e3 plugs are very good and get a good set of wires and go from there
