Default Lowering Springs on an S2k?

I am wanting to lower the car just a tad, and don't have the money to actually buy a decent set of coilovers. I was looking into the D2's, but a friend of mine is riding on some Neuspeed springs, and they lower the car perfectly. I want it to ride smoothe, or just as stock. What do you all think? I see some TEIN and Eibach springs that are decently priced, but didn't wanna just throw something on that sucked. Any suggestions/opinions? Other than "oh save up, and do it right the first time" what do you all say?

i have eibach prokit and i am taking them off to get D2s. the Eibachs lower the car nicely and ride smoothly but don't do enough for adjustability. My opinion has always been go coilovers or go home. If you are too cheap to buy coils than you are just too cheap.

Haha, true. Suspension is probably gonna be the first mod I do to the car. I will probably just wait it out and save up. But then again I might just purchase some springs because I'm not the type of person who cares to slam there car too much, just a nice little drop and smoothe driving.

Thanks man, know a good place to purchase?

Oh, and when doing suspension to the S2000, is there any problems when installing? Is there anything that HAS to be added to make the car ride good? A friend of mine said he read that something needed to be added somewhere when putting suspension on so that the car does not mess up(He purchased an AP1 with Neuspeeds/Suspension already done)? I'm fairly knew to the S2k, since I've been more into the EK and Integra I had in the past.

The only problem you'll encounter when installing the springs will be the driver side rear, because the fuel lines are in the way. Best way is to detach the fuel lines which are held on by 4 bolts. For the long run, you'll want to run driveshaft spacers, so the stress will be eliminated on your driveshafts due to the lowered ride height.

As far as who to order from...please check your PM

Swift Springs are really good too, should consider that also www.swiftsprings.com they don't drop as much as other springs but they're using much lighter material and great comfort on the street.

you do not have to detach the fuel lines at all... ive done countless spring and coil installs and have not done this once... im sure its easier to remove the bolts, but if you use an extension and have pretty sturdy hands youll be fine...

I think you are referring to the need for driveshaft spacers to prevent improper wear and binding in the LSD.

^ its called axel spacers and they help reduce stretching the axels to to the car being so low.

I was dropped on Espelir ASD's and loved them I out grew them now riding on tein flex

Oh trust me we tried. It went to a place of no return. It somehow turned itself vertically and jammed in there. I ended up using a screwdriver and prying the living crap out of it until it rolled upwards closer to where we could reach. I then had to grab needle nose pliers and pop it out. I broke a sweat doing it haha.

(I went with Tein S-Techs btw and LOVE the drop/ride)

THanks for the input everyone. And yes I was speaking of the axle spacers/driveshaft spacers that was pointed out. How much do those cost? Where can I purchase those?

Depending which brand you order. Prices range from around 160 for T1R to 250 for J's Racing. Let me know if you're interested in purchasing them.

If you are considering buying coilovers in the future I say just do it the first time and save yourself some money in the long run. Otherwise I have heard good things about Eibach pro kit

So are axle spacers recommended when lowering or putting any suspension on?

Not to my knowledge. Unless you are going to a crazy low drop.

I'm down an inch and see no issues.

Teins are on, and I like them.

Nice drop, no rubbing and handling is greatly improved. Car feels more stable to me.

I'm happy especially for the 180 bucks shipped!!

Nah, won't be a crazy drop. Black_S2k up there is wanting to sell me his Espeliers for a good price, and I might just go with them. I don't planned on being slammed, just a littler lower.

I'd venture an educated guess that anything < a 1.5" - 2" drop wouldn't require any spacers, perhaps even more.

Teins
Espeliers
Swifts
Eibach

All are fine.

Thanks for the input man. Whenever Black_S2k responds to me with some pictures, I'll probably be ordering them from him.

Anyone have am extra stock Ap1 wheel lying around?
