Default Yokohama tires...

Did several searches and can find nothing on these tires for the R. I have 21k now and two of the tires are bald. I was told at the shop that some Yokohama 195/55 H-rated(if I remember correctly) are a better substitute for the Bridgestone RE010s for someone who doesn't drive the **** out of the car. Any opinions on these tires? I'm willing to fork out the money for the Bridgestones but if I will be satisfied with the Yokohamas at half the price i might go that route.

There are lots of choices now. Toyo Proxes T1-S are getting cheaper now and of coz there are FM901. T1-S is the better all around street tires and IMO that's the best street tire I've ever use(excluding Azenis coz it's not considered as street tires).

Depends on how u drive your car and if u go track days or not.

I drive my car very easy, and try not to get too happy in corners but sometimes I have a little fun. I wouldn't say I ever use the R to its full potential, hell my stock tires lasted 21k. I use the car mostly for commuting. I was just concerned about cutting costs and settling with a lower grade product which will cause me grief later. The R has saved my *** several times due to its handling and I don't want to sacrifice that.

I agree, I'm on my second set of T1-S. Every since I first had them, I feel like I'm biased towards every other tire out there. For the tread design functionality, technology in them, and longevity, can't beat them.
