94 prelude stumbling and not accelerating
I have a 94 prelude and just today its begin to stumble. First i was idling, clutch in and in first gear, and my car just turned off. I started it back up fine. I started to drive and in first it didnt want to pick up. My foot was on the gas and pressing but car wasnt moving as fast as it should but then after a little amount of time it will pick up and be fine. Also, when im driving in second slow my car will kinda stumble and bobble but for no reason. I have gas in it and has never done this before. What could be the cause of this? You can email me at ashleybby_09@yahoo.com if you have help. Pleeasee help!
Sounds like the computer is choking on a hair ball. The ECU goes into "Limp home" mode after a major error and will behave just like this. If you don't know how to pull the Trouble codes, just search on this web site. After you are done, disconnect the car battery for 60 seconds and the ECU will reset and it will run fine unless the same problem happens again. Once you get the code, you will have a better idea of what to do.
There is a chance that it was just an odd occurrence and won't happen again. You just have to reset it and see what happens.

It should come on when the engine stumbles like that as well. I would still try to reset it by removing the battery power.
I don't have too many other ideas since a code is not being generated.

There are other reasons ... spark, timing, and fuel contamination. Start with the easier and check spark. Better yet, do a tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Install new fuel filter. If problem still exists then check timing, change fuel grade used, check for fuel leaks, fuel pressure, and check air intake obstructions.
