Default noob questions on build of b16a2

i just aqcuired a 2000 civic si with a b16a2 and would like to build the motor up just to the next level. this is my daily driver so i wouldn't want to do anything too dramatic. the car has AEM cold intake, thermal R&D exhast system, aftermarket headers. i dont want to turbo the motor becuase its my daily driver, what im thinking of getting

1. skunk2 stage one tuner cams
2. aem tuner cam gears

so my question is: what else would i need to build up this motor? hondatas???? and skunk2 retainers and springs?
id also like to know what kind of price range am i looking at? if possible anyone that has done can give me some advice on this subject

how much are you looking to spend? What is your power goal? What do you intend to do with it? DD/weekend warrior... AutoX? Drag? HPDE?

Stage 2 cams usually require springs and retainers. But if it is a dd then I would just get some itr/ctr's for it.

I have the skunk2 stage 1 cams and I am very happy with them... They definitely outperform Type R cams... It is not required but I replaced the springs/retainers as well as the valves with skunk2 parts... The springs/retainers will allow you to rev a little bit higher... My rev limit is set at 8800 rpm...

The MOST important thing is tune, without a tune we are talking like a 2hp gain and your car will run like garbage... Absolutely get it dyno tuned not one of those BS mail order basemaps...

Overall I am very happy with my setup as a DD car...

K&N FIPK, skunk2 tuner stage 1 cams, skunk2 springs/retainers, skunk2 valves, Random Tech cat, Apexi WS2 exhaust, chipped P28 ECU, skunk2 short shifter with ES bushings, ACT stage 2 clutch, ACT streetlite flywheel...

If you care:
s2000 seats, skunk2 pro-s coilovers, skunk2 LCAs, Brembo blank rotors, Hawk HPS pads...

I would say I have about 3.5k in the engine/drivetrain not including routine/preventative maintenance... Also I did alot of the work myself...

It was street tuned by a buddy of mine who does ecTune... I would estimate it around 185 crank hp... I said to get a real dyno tune because that is the way to go to extract the most power out of your car... I am just done investing money in the car at this point... Hopefully in the next year I will buy another car and have this one up for sale...

I had a mail order tune, and it ran worse than with the stock ECU... It was constantly fouling the plugs and wouldn't idle for crap... My buddy got it to where it isn't running so rich and pulls pretty well up high...

did you have to convert your harness to obd1 or did you keep it obd2? did you pass emissions?

I bought an OBD II to OBD I coversion harness when I ordered the chipped ECU... I didn't have emissions where I lived in MD and I don't have it here in FL either...

When I lived in a county with emissions, the car would pass with the cams and stock ECU... I would have to reset it right before I went through though because after driving for awhile the car would throw a CEL for running too rich...
