Removing inner fender shield?
Hey was wondering how you remove the bolts on the inner fender shield. I have removed the ones just above the mudflap that are a philips head but can't seem to see how to remove the others. I initially thought that they were hex bolts but they weren't. Anyone know?
The little plastic clips? You pop the center section outwards with a flat head screwdriver, which should move it out just above the rim then you should be able to pull them right out.
what year is your accord? to remove the plastic clips you'll need a small screwdriver, start by turning the plastic screw halfway out then pullout the clip (hope that makes sense). There's quite a few in the fenderwell usually the inner fender will fall right off soon as you remove all of them. Also this is in reference of my 94 accord yours should be similiar (hopefully). I also have a prelude but the clips on the prelude are a bit different (that's another story)
I have a 97' ex, I don't think that they are all plastic. The ones that are right on the edge of the fender seem to be metal. I will check and then get back to you. I should be able to get a good look because the car is in the air now to replace the half shaft.
It's probably just hardened plastic. That or you have aftermarket ones. The stock setup is plastic clips that come off as I described and the three or four phillips.
Yeah drivers side has the plastic clips like you were saying but the passanger side has these metal ones. I'll have to try and figure out how they come out. Thanks
