94 Accord ex ignition/fuel problems?
Hello everyone - new guy here, and I could use some help. Im working on my daughters 94 accord ex, 2.2 vtec eng. the problem i was having to begin with was the car would stall out. Once you let it set for a little while, it would start back up and run again. In reading some of the posts here, I started looking at the ign system. I got a new coil, ICM and finally a distributor. All this time, when I turned the key to the on position, I could hear the fuel pump load up for a few seconds.
Yesterday, after the distributor swap didn't work, I started looking at the possibility of a fuel problem. I opened the service port on the fuel rail and gas was consistently pumping. From there, I was going to check fuel pressure. Ended up cutting the fuel line from the filter to the fuel rail and installing a T fitting. When I went to crank it to check pressure.... nothing. I do not hear the pump loading up anymore. I checked the fuse under the dash (Fuse #2) and checked the relay according to the haynes manual I have, both are fine. I pulled the rear seat and check for current at the yellow/black wire. When I get my tester leads set up, and then turn the key to ON position, it starts out at 12 volts, but quickly drops to about 1.5v (within 30 seconds).
I am not sure if I should replace the pump, or the relay, or could there be something else in this circuit that I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
