Go back and search.. cause i know you didnt...
There is much much reading to do.
Engines and chassis have been discussed here about 55 Quadrillion times.
If your starting off and are new to RR, or Auto X run what you have bone stock.
Get seat time. When you can handle your car top notch bone stock then its time to start adding parts and pieces. Misconception is to build a car with the best of the best not knowing what parts do to the performance and how it affects the car positively or negatively. Go out now and have fun.
Just because some parts are popular doesnt mean they are right for you and your car.
Go back and search.

Pick up a 88-91 honda civic SI.
Run it stock in the stock autox class and run it stock in HPDE.
When you know how to drive start modding the car for STS class.
The 88-91 civic SI is THE car to have in STS. Don't go swaping motors and brakes though keep it stock
