Default 92 DX brake problem

I just put on some new pads on the front and it seems like the driver side is dragging or something. The rim gets hot as hell, and for a little bit after I put it on, it was smoking. I think it was just the paint burning off though.

So far, I took the pads back out and tried pushing the piston back farther, but that didn't help any. What else could I try before I buy a new caliper?

for the record, pusing your calipers farther in only gives you more clearance to put fatter pads on. the second you bleed them and step on the brake negates that you even did that.
