Default Swap Wiring Issue! Please Help!

I have been swapping CRXs for a long time. I just picked up an EK and need to what is up with my wiring harness. I was told that to wire a B16 into my 1996 CX Hatch, that I needed the engine wiring harness from a 96 EX with V-TEC. I picked one up from a guy on here and it doesn't have the same plugs as my CX does!? I hope someone can tell me what I need.

I have taken pictures of the plugs that are on my CX. If someone can tell if they are original or not that would be great too. Thanks guys!!!!!

Driver's Side Plug

Passenger Side, Harness seems to disappear!?

Please Help!!!! :-(

Looks original, I did the mini me swap in my 97 lx and I didnt replace the harness, just swapped the wires at the ECU for the IACV and ran the wires for VTEC and knock, I dont see a B16 being any different.

But the plugs on the harness I bought are completely different than the ones I have. Did I just get tricked into buying the wrong harness?

im not 100% sure on this but that looks like its an obd1 harness. i have a 98 ex and the engine harness has the ecu plugs mad onto it. only thing that has me is that it has an obd2 alternator plug.. theres a little tag between the yellow/orange tape. can you still read it? if so post what it says.

I looked this morning and the label is too faded to read. But after looking the harness that I was shipped is slightly different from the one that is in the picture the guy sent me. But the plugs on the strut towers are still the same and won't fit my car. :-( Anyone else got any ides?

Its either a '96 - '97 Del Sol Si, '96 - '97 Del Sol Vtec, or '96 - '01 Integra GS-R harness. In any case its not going to work (it is worth some money though) The harness you want is from a '96 - '98 Civic EX.

Is there a certain way to tell the difference? Is the Civic one different cuz thats when they did a major model change and the Del Sol and Integra didn't change till later?

If its a GS-R harness it will have an extra plug for the IABs that the other 2 harnesses will lack. The Del Sol Si and Del Sol Vtec harnesses are almost identical, the Vtec version should have longer wiring running to certain connectors, thats it.

All '92 - '95 Civics, '93 - '97 Del Sols, and '94 - '01 Integras share the same style 2 piece engine harness design. '96 - '00 civics use an oddball 1 piece harness that is completely incompatible, to further complicate things '96 - '98 Civic harnesses are different than '99 - '00 and are incompatible with one another unless you also use the corresponding chassis harness.

Its a Vtec OBD2 Integra or Del Sol harness, very handy for dropping an OBD2 B-series engine into an OBD1 Civic, Integra, or Del Sol. Or even for dropping an OBD2 B-series vtec engine into a non vtec OBD2 Integra. There is a demand for them, I keep seeing them for sale anywhere from $20 to $100

And since I am running a p28 with s300 and OBD2A plugs on it I will just not plug in the crank sensor and need to extend some wires. Correct?

So! We swapped the engine this weekend with the harness that i posted pictures of a week or so ago. It turns out that that harness is for a civic with a CVT transmission. We are working on a couple wiring bugs right now. I will let everyone know how it turns out

It seems to run awesome! We had to switch the primary O2 sensor and there is no provisions for a knock sensor. But luckily the S300 lets a guy simply turn that sensor off.
