you need a a multimeter to perform a parasitic drain test

Its called a parasitic drew you test this by removing the negative battery cable and connecting a ammeter in serious with the battery. Once connected you disconnect susses until you find the one that drops the most amps. find fault in that circuit and fix.

fck i need to do the same because my cars battery also keeps dying.
at first i thought the car wasnt starting because my starter was bad, but then i realized it wouldnt start because there was harldy any power left in the battery.
the alternator, battery, and starter all passed over and over.
so that means something is drawing power that shouldnt.

well i found the fues that was causing the short it's the one for the cig.ligther... but now that the car is on my altenator isnt charging the altenator is brand new i've got it tested and it read's good i checked the voltage and it's 12.38 it should be reading 14.00 or so to my knowledge that mean's the altenator isnt charging right ?
I have a 92 Accord with same issue. I am currently tracking it down. Will keep you posted on what I find - we may have the same or very similar issue.
So far - I suspect the aftermarket radio or a circuit in the power door locks. I have not cound any loose grounds or wires - but I have only had this car for 2 weeks. I've owned several Hondas though...
-nothin like a 5-speed-

i started up the car today and it started up with no problems the altenator was charging i checked the voltage it was at 14.56 or so, but then after a couple of min. that the car is on the altenator stop's charging i check the voltage and it goes down to 12.36 weird
still cant figure this out i dont wanna take it to a shop but i think im gonna have to
im still having the same problem atenator charges when i first start it then after a couple mins. it stop's charging

I had the same problem on a 91 4 door. Except my battery would stay charged as long as it was driven around. but the alternator wouldnt charge all the time. if i let the car sit, because it was a 3rd round extra car, the battery would die and i would have to disconnect the ecu before i did anything. I found this out cause i bought the car with a bad ecu. my friend bought this car cheap and was going to fix it but couldnt figure it out, so this is when i got it. I tracked down the no start problem to an ecu. I put a new ecu in and boom car was running. but i soon found out that the battery would drain just sitting. After a week or so I went to start the car and nothing. Went to jump start it and it started right up but then died. At this time i heard the ecu fuse blow. At this point i already knew i blew the ecu. So i put in another. I can tell u that on my car the problem was somewhere within the wires of the big plug on the ecu. Im not sure which wire(s) inpeticular i didnt get any further before someone offered to buy the car from me.
do you have the door-mounted seat belts? they can cause a parasitic drain if they or the latch is not working properly. also, it's normal for your alternator to charge and stop...that's what the regulator does. once the battery is charged, it shuts off the alternator until the voltage drops again below a set point.
