just some background first...

had a tune up done about a month ago. oil change the same time. car has 213,XXX miles. about a month ago the car started smoking a lot. lots of white smoke coming out of the exhaust. took it to a mech. they checked it out and the rest of the car. they said the reason why i've been having problems with the car starting is because im getting a bit of oil in my spark plug area and i need to replace some seals etc. nothing too major. the car would still crank over it was just take a minute to catch spark and start. i was going to fix it this paycheck. anyways i was out today and when i went to turn the car back on it didnt start. it wasnt even cranking. checked fuses and they all looked fine (unless i missed one). i dont think its the battery either but im gonna try to jump it later.

can anybody please give me some suggestions as to what the problem can be. i have no idea. i would really appreciate it. thanks.

 

maybe your safty switch i know on my crx the part that pushes it in broke and out of the blue my car wouldnt crank or anything

 

naa its not that. cars always ran fine until this. im thinking something either came lose or something needs to just be replaced. but what? im beginning to think it might just be the starter.

 

Smack the starter, if nothing run a jumper wire to the to starter to see if i kicks.

 

coil or main relay perhaps

 

Does it click when trying to turn the ignition?
I had my starter go out a couple times before and it would just click instead of cranking.

If all else fails you can always take your starter out and take it to Autozone to get it tested.
