Default Timing belt issues!

Ok, I have done the search. Bought both the H23 and H22 timing belts, and neither work. The H23 belt doesn't even come close to matching! The H22 belt is about 1/4 too short. I tried putting the stock cam gears back on, and no joy. Dis-assembled the tensioner, then put the belt on, still no luck. I have had two different Honda ASE techs over, and they can't seem to fit it. What is the deal? I am about to go to Pep Boyz (APC heaven!) and get a belt that is a little longer if I can't get an answer to this issue! I hate using anything but Honda belts though! Need help guys.

well some thing is not right if you cant get it to go on. Try getting another belt from a different honda you should be able to return it if it doesnt fit still.

you have an h22 and a h22 belt won't fit? if that's the case, something is wrong. you may not have the tensioner set up properly. do you have the hydraulic tensioner? if you do, you have to take it completely off, then put the belt on, then put the tensioner back on.

I took back the H23 belt, that was no where near what I needed. I finally got the H22 belt to fit. When you put the H23 manual tensioner on, there is a bolt that doesn't let the tensioner fully extend down. So, I pulled the whole thing apart got it to fit, but couldn't get the bolt back on. So, the last time, I took the whole assembly apart, put the bolt on, put the belt on, then fit the tensioner on. It was a pain, but now it is done! Thanks for all the suggestions.
