Default Round 2 in the 98 GSR at the track

Well last night me, my friend(patrick, base rsx), and my dad(300ZX TT). Made our second trip out to Jackson. First for time for the dad. I took most of ya'lls racing advice. I took out the spare and front seat. Had only about a 1/4 tank of 93 left. And lowered the pressure to around 28psi to start. We ran 7 times, and my second run was the best of the night....
reaction .344
60 ft 2.47
330ft 6.90
1/8 10.45
1/8 69.42
1/4 16.0 s
1/4 86.2mph

I thought that was definately an improvement. (almost .5 seconds) And, It was hotter out last night than my first night. Later in teh night I lowered my pressure down to around 22psi and I pulled a 2.43 60ft. 1/4 in 16.1 at 85.21mph. I just can't get my 60 down much lower. Patrick lowered his time as well and pulled a 16.6 at like 81 in his RSX. We both decided that were going to wait until it cools down here in the blazing south. It was mid-80's during our runs. Anyways, i'm pleased and can't wait to go again later on this year.

O ya, my dad ran a 13.9 at 105.9mph the first run in his Z w/ a 2.2 60ft. I'll get his slip tonight and post it up exactly. His car definately has more potential, but the long drive there and the extreme heat kinda hurt him. Also, it was his first time running. Please comment on everyone's run

P.S. Sorry for the double post but no one was posting anything worthwhile in "drag racing"

Those times should be for an LS, but it is your first time at the track. Is the elevation messed up there? It seems like all those cars seem a little slow for what they are. Besides that sounds cool. What mods do you have?

Yes, that is a base RSX. No, we are like 7 feet above sea level(Eastern GA). I think the 87 degree heat along with the humidity around 65-70 percent, put a hurt on our times. I don't think most of ya'll have been to Georgia before so you don't really know how it gets here. Even at night.

And, I leave right when I see the middle or last light. One of my reaction times was .045 I believe. LOL

****, I shredded my slip w/ that reaction. I had a copy of a .228 reaction by me. I'm not going to lie to you. Why would I come on the net and tell my slow time, but lie about getting a fast reaction? I'll scan that .228 if you don't believe me there either. How exactly is a .045 impossible? All you have to do is hit the gas around the middle yellow light.

.5 is the fastest you can do it in. its been proven if you ever watch that drag racing on tv they dont even hit .228 or .045 or they get DQ'd

It doesnt matter when you are running at an open track. The only time it matters is if you go before the green light. Then you get a "red light". The rules are different when you run the grudge matches like on TV. They are limited to a .500 reaction time, or they get red lighted, I believe. I'll scan the slip tomorrow, i'm too tired to do it now....
