I know this may sound like a stupid question, but I was wondering with anyone here with a Civic EK who was trying to make there civic into an almost authentic CTR what engine swap would you prefer to go with, the B16B or the B18C5 after you pick could you give reasons why you picked one over the other.

 

most likely torque was the issue as to why they would choose the ITR motor vs the CTR motor

almost authentic ctr...well...a ctr engine would do it...

 

yeah I know, I didn't really know how to ask the question, it's just I have seen an EK in SCC magazine that was the spoon sports Civic that was claiming to be a Type-R (i think maybe I better check that just incase) and he had a B18C5 swap.

 

what color was it? what month of SCC and no it wasn't a spoon sports civic if you are referring to Shawn hillers Silver ek .. it was given the spoon rub down as well as other performance parts

 

Yeah you're right it was just an EK with a B18C5 swap he was not claiming to have a Type-R, it was the Silver EK from a few months back sorry i can't remember the specific date of the issue.
