HKS sport exhaust on a 91 DX?
hey, ive been looking around for a quiet but better flowing and looking exhaust for my 91 civic dx (3 door hatchback), and i think the hks one will be perfect. im just wondering if it will fit on my car without any cutting or new flanges.
also, does anyone have a sound bite of one of these exhausts revving?

Here is a vid of a b16 CRX with that exhaust.

505 bucks is alot for a catback. You can take it to a muffler shop and get 2.5" all the way back from the header to whatever muffler you want for WAY cheaper than that, but that's my opinion.
If you are going to spend 500 bucks on a good exhaust, I would suggest checking into the Thermal R&D 3" exhaust, best that money can buy and has been proven over the years.

Hilarious to me that someone would do an exhaust sound clip and have music blaring in the background so you can barely hear the exhaust people want to hear. Thanks for posting though, My CRX exhaust is shot and I'm looking for options also. I will be going with the custom job at the muffler shop, however, this scares me because generally they do terrible welds and almost NEVER do mandrel bends. Although with 2.25 or 2.5 inch piping the bends won't matter because I don't need much inside diameter for the little D16
Well I'v always gone to the small shops, not like Meineke or what have you. I have my exhaust manual bends and installed for about 60 bucks, thats me providing the muffler also.
The vid sucks yeah but you can kinda hear it and thats the only thing I have found in the HKS sport one.

Here is a thread for the exhaust for a CRX/Civic ~28 pages of debate as well as pics and some sound clips, so you might want to check that out as well.

Yeah i kinda have the same problem.... well a little different i have a 91 EF with a B16 and i have ther greddy exhaust but it sounds so high pitched what can i do? I have 2.5 from the header back
I want a more deep sound

If it has the rasp, I'v always installed a resonator and that usually baffles the high pitched sound. You may lose a little performance, but the rasp is worse IMO.

thanks for the vid. i really want a hks sport exhaust because thats what i have on my alltrac, and it just gives it a little bit of a growl, but its not loud in the least bit. i figured it would be the same on my dx since hks only uses a 2" pipe and what looks like a big muffler, and it'll be low key enough to stay unnoticed.
its really the only "power" mod i want to do....

i just got two of them (i got a hook up). one i plan on putting on mine and another one i installed on a 91 civic hatch dx.
fits perfectly. very nice low sound. looks stock so cops will think much about it.
