One of my most favorite cars is still the 01-03 3.2CL Type S. Since I live in Trafficville, I'd rather not deal with the manual shifting. But the only thing that has stopped me from really trying to get the CL is the ever looming transmission problems. I go onto an Acura specific site and all I get is circle jerking. Did Honda ever come up with a fix for the failure or would buying a '02 3.2CL be like putting my hand on an electric stove top while it warms up?

Yes & No. Most of the TL / CL transmission replacements also required a replacement of the ECU/PCM due to the "harsh" shift points in the original. If the transmission has been replaced under warranty more than likely the ECU/PCM was replaced with an up to date one. However I have seen several cars come back to the dealer with their second or even third transmissions shot as well. It really all comes down to how you drive and how well you maintain your replacement trans. Me personally, I would look for manual trans.

Ahh. I see so many CL's for less than $10K, and I doubt the 2001-2002 are under the transmission warranty though :/.
