Icon2 transmisson options need help

hello. I built a g23 vtec and kinda ran out of money to put the h2b kit together and purchase a b series tranny. so I figure I will go with an h series tranny. but I have no clue what gearing they have and I researched this. what would be the closest gearing to a b series tranny for the h series? this is an all motor build and I want short gears. should be pushing in the 300 to 320 range with a good tune. thanks in advance.

i don't think an SH trans would work for your application.

it has decent gearing and will bolt up. but I want to know what the best h/fseries trans will work the best. I don't know anything about transmissions. I just build motors! thanks for the input but why do you not think that will be a good choice?

the SH transmission would be tricky, i've generally been told to stay away from it. so i guess i'd steer you towards a type s tranny

The SH trans mission won't work unless your whole swap is sh. The sh trans uses an active torque transfer system to do basically what an LSD does but the atts ecu controls the power between two wheels by using wheel speed sensors and a g sensor located on the steering column.

If you want a good trans go with the JDM M2B4 trans. I'm looking for one currently and just know they are scarce and pricey.

If you want a trans with the same gearing as an sh trans get the base model trans M2Y4.

I dont know much about the h series tranny. But I do know that the h23 tranny has the same gearing as the b series gsr. I had a gsr that blew up on me and happen to have a h23 tranny in my garage. and all the gearing is the same tooth to tooth. Which is why I dont why they made the h2b besides for money. Im sure im not the first person to find this out.

Because using an H-series tranny involves hacking up the civic chassis, and leaves you with a poor axle angle, along with having to use custom axles and a complete mount kit.

OK makes sense as far as the axles. But most of all heard was that the h22 drops out of vtec when shifting. I know a guy who put a h22 in his dc2 and he made the axle by changing the inner cup on a b series axle. Its not that hardto do.

what does the h23 M2S4 trans come on and what lsd fits it? I looked at the gear ratios on it and really think it will be fitting for my build.
