Once upon a time, a BB2 was riding down the street strutting out his new stance w/ Eibach Sportline springs on his OLD OEM struts. After cruising for a few miles, he comes along a very uneven street. To make matters worse, in that uneven street, there was a manhole that was not set like it was supposed to. The manhole stuck out more than the street. Mr. BB2 was stopped dead in his tracks after failing to go over the manhole.
In order to get out, Mr. BB2 had to reverse to go around the manhole in order to move along. After going around the manhole, the steering wheel had a mind of its own and starts pulling to the right..
After several alignment attempts and reconstructive cross-member/radius arm replacements. Mr. BB2 still suffers from Post Manhole syndrome. I am here to seek advice on how to banish this poor and unsatisfying condition or find out what other reconstruction procedures must be performed....
I recently acquired a donor that is willing to sacrifice himself for Mr. BB2's well being. I have considered replacing the whole subframe but before I perform such a lengthy procedure I ask of you fellow car doctors for your wise and knowledgeable input.
thx.

What I would do is: measure both sides of the subframe and the lower control arms, radius rods and swaybar links to see what was off - before I started taking stuff apart and replacing them. Then I would think about getting an alignment - still before replacing anything. Finding out nothing is damaged after taking the time and money to work on that stuff is priceless.

well when i took the car to the alignment shop, they shimmed down alot on the passenger side radius arm and added alot of washers to reduce the pull. It helped but the car still pulls. The manhole bent the crossmember in between the radius arms but the dent was closer to the passenger side of the car.
My assumptions are that either the lower control arm OR the Holes where the control arm bolts up to the sub frame MAY be the culprits.
Here's a bit more info:
When i replaced the crossmember, I had a bit of trouble bolting down the radius arm to the lower control arm even after the shim down done by the alignment shop. Also, I have Energy suspension bushings on my control arms and i noticed that the lip around the bushing on the inner most part where the control arm bolts up to the sub-frame is no longer there. There is also some play in the control arm @ the sub frame mount spot. Ill try and get pix tomorrow. I really want to get this done and do away with that pull. Halpz!!

BTW
i changed out my modified radius arm and put in a oem one. Alignment got alot worse and the bushings on my control arm shifted. Remember, i have Energy suspension bushings.
