Transmission willNOT come off..
i have my motor pulled out of my car, an im trying to pull the transmission off.. i have everybolt off an that is a fact, the starter is off, and the half shaft is off, i can pry it with a pry bar about 1.5-2 inch's all the way around, an i can see the flywheel clearly but for some reason the transmission just wont pop off.. is there anything i can check, or is there anything inside that might be stuck, broke, etc?.. i have done a few transmission an clutch swaps with the motor still in the car, so this is not my first time doing it, so i have expierence, i have had ppl bigger an stronger then me wiggle it pull it everything, it just wont come off.. any suggestions, tricks etc?
if you are 100% sure every bolt is out (im assuming you have 1.5in gap everywhere on the bell housing), just keep wiggling the tranny back and forth...it may just be getting hung up on the mainshaft.
when i took the tranny off my b16, i used a pry bar to get it loosened up, then wiggleed it till it finally came off. was a tight fit tho but if u got it 1.5-2 inchs off it should come rest of the way off
I don't know what kind of car you are working on, so this may not be applicable. I know I don't need to do this on K-series cars, but I have on some other cars I've worked on...
Can you slide the clutch release fork off of the throwout bearing? Put the trans back close to the block, grab the clutch fork and pull it away from the center of the transmission. Again, I don't know if it is applicable to the car you are working on, but you might as well try.

i had the same problem when changing my clutch on my crx. it finally came off when i lifted the clutch lever on the cable tranny and it separated. If its a hydro, try moving the clutch fork so that the throw out bearing will push itself away from the cluch unit and free itself.
is the tranny in gear? The clutch release fork movement trick works sometimes, the dust cover being on would stop you, propping the block up just abit helps me when I am by myself. Sometimes I turn the crankbolt to help get a clutch lined up to install, maybe it could help to get it off.
