Default Valve Locknut Help

I am doing a valve adj. because i heard really loud ticking in my head, so i was guessing it just needs a valve adj. It started to tick really loud after i over reved it. I got a ls so it cant handle 8k rpm. So i take off the valve cover and i see that 3 valve locknut bolts are missing from the exhaust side. I found two of them, but i cant find the 3rd one. I know that there is a chance for the nut to go inside my engine, but i didn't hear no ticking or like some weird noise from the block or around there. I just heard it from the head. I just want to know if there is like a blind spot in the head where that bolt could of gone or if other people have had the same problem and what there solution was. Thanks

They weren't tight enuf, obviously.(ran into them being a bitch to loosen before,I mean TIGHT! from 20 yrz of gunk/heat/cooldown cyclez) Get a lil magnet tool to dig around thru the oil in head, might find it-might not.(I'd hafta look @ a spare head to see if room to fall thru drain hole) Can alwayz change ur oil and hope it fallz out if down there, and try magnet thru hole,or drop pan if real concerned... G'luck mang!

i really do not want to change my oil, just did an oil change last week. And there is a way for that nut to go all the way down into the oil pan? I thought it would not be able to get down there. I am going to take one for good look and see what happens.

There's not many other places it could be if its not in the pan its in one of the oil passages partially blocking your flow.

one of my friend said that it can be in the chamber where it is between the head and block...? But 2marrow i am going to drain the oil and take out the oil pan. If it is not in there i would look up around the rods, any of the oil chambers, etc. I also need to get a oil pan gasket from honda, all because of a stupid bolt.

I checked out a pr3 head and b16a2 I had sitting around not sure what block you have but there are several oil passages by the exaust that it could go down. I dont think it would lodge between like your friend says. I also took a 10mm nut and dropped it to see if it would hang on anything and it went rite through
