Pros only....Who has sprayed Maziora?
what is the trick? im guessing it needs to be laid down in one direction from front to rear, rather than a traditional fanning motion.
is a standard clear used?
not putting up pictures, not trying to be a ***** but its one of those, "if you dont know, then you dont know" sort of things.
thanks for your help in advance. :thumb up:

MONEY...75% might be a lil much but you dont want to stop in panels or your SOL
so sideskirts and lips that are painted OFF the car should be with the basecoat just like the jambs, then re-installed on the car, so the car can be painted as a whole i take it?
Paint the car assembled unless you are that good. I've seen a kandy paint job painted completly off on a corvette. The painter had almost 20 years experience with kandys. Painting parts off could result with parts in different shades and color might flip flop differently. You will need a 75% overlap or you could get striping. I've talked to many experienced painters and they all do it. I'm more into lowriding so kandys and kameleons are more common. You'll probably get more help in a lowriding forums paint section. The guys there do some crazy paint jobs. You'll learn a lot more for sure.

the base is just purple. im not saying spray the whole job with the side skirts and lips off the car, just the purple base. then assemble and spray the rest (more important) part of the job.
im thinking spray the jambs, inside of doors, side skirts (and underneath them where they mount on the car) and lips with the base, then assemble the car and finish the job. that way, obviously, my bumper isnt black/primer under the lip ect ect.
and whats with the clear? standard clear and cut in once the kandy is laid?

Use an intercoat clear over the purple base. After you assemble you can lay the kandy. But check the tech sheets cause I know for house of kolor after 4 hours intercoat clear has to be scuffed but anytime before that you can lay your kandys. There's still a possibility of then comming out a different shade than the whole car. When you spray the clear on the base it will make it a little darker so when you lay the base on the whole car then the parts painted off the car may be a shade darke. Unless you lay the base then intercoat clear over the whole car too to match up with the parts you may be ok. I'd rather jack up the car enough to get underneath and shoot the whole thing.

Use a top coat clear on top of the kandy. There's different kinds within each brand and they all come in different prices so choose wisely. Most people will choose a pretty high quality clear with good UV protection and the another factor is when it's gonna be cut and buffed. Some clears get harder to buff out the longer you wait after it's cleared.
im not even going to spray it but ill end up cutting it in myself. i think ive got the order of operations down to ensure my jambs and all get good coverage.
