Default viper alarm with goods

what you fellow s2k owns think about this. i've never even seen a car with voice module. i've always wanted something like that every since i was a child. and now i just recently found out that they actually have them. im just worried about someone slashing the top and stealing the seats that all these honda heads want.
the nice thing about the voice module is that you can change the voice on it. japanese, english, different voice, etc. im not 100% sure on that one just over heard it.

Viper Alarm 5901
Remote Start
Voice Module set on proximity sensor set through a toggle switch for on/off
Keyless entry
Backup battery
nice slim remote
etc..
etc..

I have the 5901 in the teg. Nice alarm, though the old remote (like the video has...came on the 791xv) had some better features if you ask me (like it told you what sensor was going off, whereas my 5901 just say "something is going on"). Might be able to change that, but I havent really worried with it too much. Anyway, I opt'd out of the RF sensor (proxmity sensor), because the teg is not a soft top and the shock/tilt/hood/doors/trunk sensor should catch just about any thing that happens. I will say my 791xv had an issue with the remote and the damn alarm would NOT stop going off (it was basically doing the panic mode or something), but I havent had any issues w/ the 5901.

GPS tracking is the way to go and even then its still not fool proof. For a professional thief, they can get by these alarms without a problem.

I'd hope its fool proof, maybe not full proof, but fool proof it should be. Though you are correct, it is possible to hack just about anything, usually the "smart" theives are either smart enough to move on to the next car w/o an alarm or they are stealing nicer ****.

I used to have a voice alarm on a Jag - but it also had a proximity sensor that said something like "Please move away from the car" - or whatever.
When the local kids find that **** out, it's like christmas for them..

The Voice Module is just a waste of money IMO.

I would also suggest against the remote start if you want a functional alarm. The key to any good alarm is the install. It needs to be stealth. If a thief can track the wires from the ignition back to your alarm then he can disable it in a few seconds.

For more info on alarm systems please check out our A/S/V forum.

im really using the prox. voice module for cool factor. cuz i know if theifs really want it then they will get it. all wires are going to be stealth. i'll be also adding another siren tucked inside, so their ears will bleed! plus including the DIY poor mans gps.

Seems annoying especially if you park somewhere where there is a lot of traffic/tight spaces such as a mall or grocery store. Anything that comes close will trigger it.
