yeah stick with the h22 .. unless you have extra cash layin around and/or you wanna make this into a trophy show car. If you want something different then I'de suggest you build the h22 you have now and make some serious power.

I think everyone's been using custom axles so far. Don't quote me, I haven't looked into it all that much. Anyone confirm?

Driveshaft shop makes axle which you can get off of haspsort website but why K20 at at least k24 hybrid if your going to do this swap since going to to gain .2 liters in displacement instead of losing .2 liters. For the ecu you have to run a k20a2 or k20a ecu to run hondata also and for wiring hybrid racing makes a universal wiring harness for k20. So unless you have great wiring skills and a lot of money this would be a pretty stupid idea since the H can do everything a K can do but for less money

dude, as cool as it sounds or would be to have a K24 iVTEC All motor pushing 250whp, it's just really not likely. there are mount kits available and tuning thru K-Pro.. but why spend all of that money when you can several G's doing an H?

have you looking into the G23 Vtec? F23 bottom with H22 head makes as much or more power than a K, all motor. WORD.

Very true......

but....
My .02 is be different and build an H series correctly instead of looking to ditch the H for an ultra-expensive K motor.....
Go and price out what a well put together K setup will cost you.....The idea of using a K20 in a Prelude is ridiculous BTW......K24+ or nothing!
Give the K another 5yrs or so.......

Ks are not that expensive. I am biased I know so take that as you will. If you wait for local deals and fab some of your own parts you can get a 230whp/185wtq 2.4 K-series for less than $4000. You're screwed if you pay a shop to do the swap for you but shops exist because there's a demand for them. Some people can't or don't want to learn to do it themselves.

Despite the cost I wouldn't swap a K-into a Prelude unless I was bored and had all the stuff/skills to do it anyway. For the price of a K24ed Prelude you can buy a 10 year newer K24ed TSX and call it a day.

Although the SportsCar Motion setup in a Prelude would be damn sweet!!!
Rotrex K24@13.7:1cr! -O_o- 470whp!

Personally I'd rather buy a 06+ CSi or RSX-S than K a Prelude......but I may just do both in the future!
TSX=Yawwwnnnn.......

IMO , the K series is just not very good for the Prelude. If you just gotta jump on the K wagon, put it in a hatch.

k20 revs to 8400 and has the same hp and tq as a prelude. I just spent last weekend in a k20 type R ek4, this owner has also had a h22 in a eg, and he says the the K is like a ferrari compared to the H. Plus 2K more powerband, granted that the H hits vtec 1k earlier. Id say that you would have to have a cam'd h22 to compare..The motor has electronic cam timing, coil packs, and header on the opposite side for better scavenging. Plus it takes to mods very well. Im not hating on the H, its a much cheaper route, but Id like to see what a prelude could do if it had a k20.

SPECIFICATIONS:

* Transmission: 6 SPD LSD Hydraulic
* Year: 00+
* Compression Ratio: 11.5
* HP/Torque: 220hp/158lb-ft @ 8000/7000

okay I was a little off, they can redline halfway close to 9k, but peak power is at 8k.

It makes the TQ pretty close to the moon......I'd much rather have an H22 at corner exit......
Now if we start talking a Mod'd K20.....Well, Im pretty sure I could make a 300whp "H" for the price of a barely built K setup.
As far as your friend saying his K Hatch was like a Ferrari......He has obviously NOT done some thing right with the H22......I'd be curious to see the 2 setups, and guess he blew a TON O' Money on the K!......Is he one of those guys sporting a Solid-13sec Hatch?! LOL!!!
See Mark/One6's stock Internal EuroR H22 EG@11.9x with bolt ons and an H trans! Well over 2000lbs+....and NOw sporting 17whp more than his 11.9x run!
^^^the reason I would NEVER build a K Hatch! ^^^
Built H>Near Stock K-------by miles and miles!

on my lunch break....talking more with my k20 ek4 friend, and he's telling me that i keep forgetting the trans advantage, granted he has a heavier honda hatch. I think he thinks hes in the 12s. Hes saying that even at 3.5k he would pull harder than a h22 making his powerband better.... even though the h hits vtec 1 grand earlier. And the k being smaller displacement and lighter pistons and rods, I would say helps it rev faster... I'm just trying to compare the k to the H really I want to know where we are up against this motor...
