Default Amber US EG cluster> brightness...

I seen a topic about converting your US cluster lighting to amber. I followed the steps and when it was all hooked up it wasn't bright. One of course 2 of the bulbs weren't working but the lighting seemed uneven. With certain parts of the cluster being more lit than others. i dissasembled the cluster and broke alot of "blocker peices that guide the light. I took reflective tape and lined the inside walls and back so that as much light would reflect...so now i got the brightness of a stock unit... lovin it! THANKS HONDA-TECH FOR HELPING ME GET RID OF THOSE GAY INDIGLO'S!

BTW: CAN I JUST SWAP THE BULBS IN THE CLIMATE CONTROL TO AMBER? -TECH -TECH

If you can find amber bulbs, I say go for it. I was thinking of painting the bulbs on my friend's car, but I don't know if that will work.

You can paint them or get a hold of those orange/amber "condoms" for the bulbs... don't know if you can just buy them at an autoparts store or something... OR if you're die hard, you can spend the $$$ and get the jdm spec climate control. It'll have the amber "condoms" in there and the different climate control face. Kinda expensive though.

one thing that works is a "paintable" marker. You have to cook the paint in the oven for it to set. so? not too sure how well that will work. I can just grab 7-10 si/prelude bulbs from honda.

I would love to see how bright your cluster is, can you get some pics? I hate how dim the jdm ones are. Thanx.

To change my climate control to amber, I just went to the dealer and ordered the climate control bulbs for the 99 Si. Pulled out my climate controls, pulled the orange condoms off of the new 99 Si bulbs, and slipped them over my stock bulbs.
