Default Bad motor mounts caused exhaust leak?

I recently purchased a 1996 civic EX with a b16a2 swap. The previous owner told me the motor mounts were worn and should be replaced, not sure why he didnt do this with the swap.

After having the car for a day the engine sound started getting louder and louder till finally it sounded like it had open headers. Im assuming a part of the exhaust came loose and im hoping thats just the case.

Now if the mounts were bad wouldnt I notice other symptoms like jerking of the car, shaking, ect?

I ordered some hasport mounts already just incase but wont have them in for atleast a week. Im gonna take the car on monday to have the exhaust looked at to see whats causing the leak and hopefully get it fixed.

Im just wondering if its most likely that the exhaust leak was caused by the mounts or if it just got loose.

It all depends how much movement the engine is making. Excessive engine rocking can create exhaust leaks where the head pipe joins the exhaust manifold as well as exhaust rattles. Does it make more noise when changing gear?

Mine kinda misfires and makes the car jerk at the same time every time theres a bump or rough pavement, and the idle dives down evrytime i shut the hood and sometimes when i shut the door, im not sure if thats one of the symptoms of a bad motor mounts
