Default Steering wheel on 91 acccord is off center then isn't?

My 91 accord is doing wierd stuff. The tires are wearing perfectly had the tire dealer inspect the allignment, and the tires are wearing straight. But the steering wheel is sometimes cocked to the left, and sometimes to the right. I am beginning to think that the spline in the steering column has about a 1/4" of play in it somehow, or the shaft itself is tweeking is that possible. Can someone help. I have some ideas, but I am really not sure. THe car rides great, and no noticeable handling problems, except that it seems to wonder to the right during left hand hard highway curves at speed like overpasses to other freeways etc. Could it be the rack going out? or just part of the steering column loose, like maybe where they have the colapsible parts?

Thanks Bob
