Default mis shifted now running pig rich??

ok so the car did a 3-4-3 shift by accident and now its running pig pig rich. like pinning the afr gauge low rich. compression is still good and pulling 18-20"hg at idle. so far its not the ecu causing the rich problem and the gauge is working properly. plugs come out rich but they are evenly rich so its not like 1 injector **** out. also the timing is still right on.

tune is hondata and using precision 880s. so what could make it run too rich?

Did u actually leakdown/compression test it? I've seen cars with bent valves run rich like that cause its fooling the map sensor with the backpressure through the valve.

compression test was done by the owner(not my car) it was 175 even i think he said on a 9:1 motor. i did recommend leakdown as well.

you may have bent some valves. leakdown is next.

yes i know, its a local kid and i wasnt sure how much he wants his situation posted up on here so i tried saying it as nice as possible lol. properly, the motor was subjected to a missed shift by the driver.

leakdown will come, i wouldnt be suprised if it tapped a valve. im having trouble putting together how that would make the air fuel dip into the 8's. is it possible for a tapped valve to really starve the motor of that much air that its now overly rich?

this week sometime im gonna throw my injectors in there just to see if its a problem with them specifically. fuel pressure is fine around 40 psi and it goes up a little with throttle

ferrea valves, crower springs/retainers and itr cams. jg edelbrock gears, +2 intake, 0 exhaust. timing marks between cams and crankpulley still line up. i was worried it skipped timing as a reason for slightly lower vacuum at idle. (like 18-20"). it still revs up clean not real obvious noise, but again just rich as ****

block is a piston and rod stock sleeve setup. 20 psi out of a t3t4 50 trim around 400hp

I'd look at the exhaust valves first. If exhaust is being sucked back into the cylinders (bent valves), it will basicly prevent fresh oxygen intake while the same fuel amount is injected. It would probably idle the same, since the intake side is mostly what dictates idle vac & such. Otherwise check valve lash. It's a real outside chance, but a giant gap would prevent air from entering and exhaust from leaving the cylinder.

Are you sure the wideband isn't just taking a sharp nosedive?

yeah. the plugs are black as night, it stinks horribly like excess fuel. if i plug into the hondata i can get the wideband to move off rich, but i have to take a disgusting amount of fuel out, much more than i should have to.

we should pop off the valvecover and start poking around with lash, leakdown etc...

would his resistor box going bad (not likely i know) cause this situation?
