How long can you boost on the freeway?
How long can you safely boost on the freeway or highway ?
Is is possible to boost for about 10-15minutes WOT without cool down?

No. Not to mention staying WOT for 10-15 minutes isn't possible, even on the Bonneville salt flats. Please rephrase your question to eliminate ambiguity.

come on guys don't be this dumb. anyone can tell he is/was talking about just beating around on the interstate for a extended period of time.
i don't think he means being at wot constantly for 10-15 min....
to actually give some help on this. it's all in the tune. if the tune is dead on along with the machanical parts being up to the task (cooling system, oiling system, engine, turbo,etc...)
Also keep in mind all the heat that will be generated from the exahaust.

Here is somthing to think about. After about 3 or 4 races on the highway my oil temps start to go higher then i like so i let her cool off for 5 10 min. Stock b16 turbo, Granted i have no oil coolers or a larger radiator. You could set your car up to be able to run WOT for long periods of time with out problems. If your interested in being able to run your car wot for long periods check out what the road race guys are useing.
it only took about 5-8 seconds of wot on the highway to distroy my forged pistons from to much heat....
if you can get you engine to survive 10-15min that would be incredible.

^ something was wrong with your tune then, I have race on the highway for about 30min straight and my car drove home no prob. Obviously not in a row but from 2nd gear roll to 5th gear and then I would cruise till the next guy came up and line up,all while rolling never stopped the car and it was all good.
With a properly built engine, a good cooling system, heat wrapped turbo system meaning manfold, downpipe and turbine housing, a really good tune with proper temp corrections, and a good oil cooler, not a stock one i mean an external with a small radiator and fan on that radiator with suffecient air flow then it shouldnt be an issues to continually beat on the car on the highway for an hour. this doesnt mean WOT this means on and off and through the grears back to back with minimal cool down.
I personally wouldnt do it for an hour cause the damaging effects that could happen are costly LOL.
ive ran through the gears back to back about 4-5 times on the highway before without any issues other than cooking the oil a little, bearings checked out ok and im on a conservative pump gas tune.
oil break down is an issue. conventional motor oil starts to break down over 230. if you run a race oil or a synthetic oil you can run up to 300 BUT and i mean BUT if you runing 300 degree oil temps your seriously asking for problems, thats ALOT of heat where it doesnt belong

What is your issue with my comment? Did someone step on your sack today?
Doing it in a car that is not an economy FWD car would be far more safer for the driver, but still stupidly irresponsibly towards innocent civilians.

seems to me that this thread is starting to condone street racing. people get hurt and die from that ****. take it to the track if you want to beat on it. /thread
oh god, the holy rollers are coming in. isn't there a GD thread for you guys to *****?
here's a tip, don't modify your car as it pollutes more. so for the planets sake quit polluting.....

The topic is something my friend and I were discussing.
We were discussing Factory Turbo Cars, and Boosting for long period of time.
I may take the risk of a top end run, when the road is very very clear.
I am also setting up my car to be stable on the highway.

I have talked with many people and it seems commenplace or even accepted that you can only do a pull then it needs to cool.
When i build a car i want to have confidence that i "could" go drive my car hard for 10, 20, 30 min without issue.
For instance, i have a ef so i'm keeping full length rad., dual fans w/ fan shrouds, oem venting on bumper, adding oil cooler, larger p/s cooler, turbo blanket, heat sheilding on oil pan, wrap exhaust and manifold, etc.
