NEED HELP! Type R tranny rebuild....tight input shaft?
Ok so i got a type r tranny, i believe it is from a '98 Type r. When i got it, it had a cracked case and bad bearings, so i bought a rebuild kit and decided to go at it myself. I got everything together and went to put the case back on. I replaced both input shaft bearings on both sides of the shaft and both bearings on the LSD. I also replaced the bearings on the countershaft.
So once i fought with the case to get it on, i tightened the bolts down and went to spin the input shaft and it wont move unless i put vise-grips on it. No noise when it spins though, and the diff moves freely. It also shifts normally. I figured it was a shim problem. There was two little washer type shims on the bottom of the shaft like where it goes into the bell housing. Should i remove them and see if thats it? Or could it be something i did. Please help thanks

so i guess noones had this problem before? ima just see if a different size shim on the input shaft will make a difference
i would like some insight on this problem i replaced my isb but i forgot to put the shims in and then relised it before in put the trans back in
when the shims are in my trans makes a clunky noise when u turn it by the diff but not when the shims are out.
can u drive without the shims in or is that no good
