Hey Guys,
I just did some headwork (new valves etc) and it's been pretty straight forward getting everything back together EXECPT this damn a/c belt just won't go on! I've loosen the tensioner as far as it can go, the altenator is pivot as far down as possible and the belt needs like 5MM more room to slide on!!? What am I missing here? Do you guys keep the altenator holder bolt off and then slide on the belt? Seems like such a tight squeeze when there is a "tensioner" to do most of the work!
Help please! Car this is the last step before i start the damn motor.

i reattempted the suggested method and it worked. Keep the bottom tensioner nut off, slide belt on, faster upper bolt, replace bottom nut

Works every time.
You can also get a bigger belt by measuring the one you have and then getting something like an inch bigger. Just ask the guy behind the part's desk to find you a belt with your given measurements. Don't forget to count the number of ribs on your belt so you get the correct one.
