Muffler hitting under car
So I am new in cars, know basically nothing, just bought a 1992 Honda Accord Ex, and it has a Magnaflow muffler on it, but when you reach a certain rpm, it hits under the car, but only for about 2 seconds and it hits about 3 times back and fourth and stops. This happens directly under the drivers seat it sounds like. The seller said this was not affeting anything but you could weld on a hanger to hold it in place, but was just a annoying sound. So is this really not affecting anything on the pipe or under the car? Secondly, I am going to go have it looked at and hopefully fixed, what is the cost on a small fix like that? Thanks!
check to see if your hanger bushings for tears or rips ... and especially to make sure none of the hangers are broken ... depending on the shop it will probably cost you 20 bucks ... i had my coupe catback exhuast cut, re-routed, and welded to fit my sedan ... also added a hanger or two ... its alot of work and it only cost me 75 bucks
