ok so i got my civic hatchback without a stereo system in it.. it does however have the oem speaker housing in the doors... i prefer to use those if possible. i really dont want to have to fab up a mount or screw some speakers directly to the door metal structure. i measured the actual opening of the housing and its 5".. i'm not sure if a 5.25" speaker will fit in it and i dont want to buy something just to find out it wont work and i have to fab something up. I used to be into stereo systems.. now i just want something decent in the doors to give me some tunes while i drive the 5 mins to work and then home again in the afternoon. sound quality and boom boom arent important... although i prefer sound quality any day over loud boom boom. right now cheap is most important to me... fabbing something up takes time.. time = money.. so something that fits in oem location without modification is preferred. i have a 4 channel, 50w per channel stereo that i'm going to use... so i dont need some 20 pound magnet door speaker (yes i'm exaggerating on the magnet..but you get the idea)

basically i'm hoping someone can tell me what will fit in the oem housing without modification thats cheap.

The door speaker is a standard 6.5" speaker, [not to be confused with the over-sized 6.5" speaker].

These will need a 1/4" spacer or a hole for the magnet cut out of the back of the stock speaker housing.

Infinity, Pioneer and Alpine also make speakers that will fit the 5" mounting hole and some that will also fit the 2" mounting depth. 94
