the cool thing is a work for a body shop on the side, he pays me half in cash and half in body work.
we are fixing my rust, then painting it and it doesnt cost me a dime.
and before i purchase wheels and supension im going to finish my motor
then before i install it im gonna buy my wheels/suspension/anything else.
and install it all at once.
i pieced together my last car as i got the parts and its just more work than doing it all at once.
and if not blue or green then what other colors do you have in mind.
i find it kind of stupid to buy wheels first when i dont even have the color of the car down yet.
calm down chief, no one is jumping on your case, just giving opinions. but to answer your question, i think the EBP (electric blue pearl, from the em1) would look very clean. once you get wheels of course
i alot of people are telling me they like EBP. i do like the color.
and ive seen a few green hatches that looked just plain bad ***
as for wheels. i was thinking some gold wheels, still not sure which ones. im not a balla, so they will be rota's or along that line (haters go right ahead)
gold would go good with blue, green or teal if i kept it.
teal would be easy, as i wouldnt have to do the door jams or engine bay.
but i am not a fan of teal, it wouldnt be so bad if it didnt look blue in certain light
the paint on this car is very very good for original with over 180k miles. but my neighbors cat started climbing on the car and scratched the paint to pieces, i mean everywhere, hood fenders, roof
and of course im fixing rust at the moment, so the quarters would need repainting anyways.

as for the cat problem...lets just say it wont be an issue anymore
I think our cars in your color look great when they're in mint condition. I did my last coupe in silverstone metallic off the s2000, and people seriously thought I bought a new car. But I also pulled and replaced every piece of trim, rubber, and glass on the car too. Since you work at a shop, just take the time to do little details - when you do that, you'll have a car that looks perfect in person as well as pictures. I've seen a ton of cars that look great in pix and are a huge letdown in person. Take pride in the work so you're not one of those people lol

i paint the bumpers off the car, i pull the side moldings and mirrors, and all lights.
i pull every trim possible.
and the places i do have to tape off, it takes forever, i am very OCD about my taping and the tape lines they leave.
my red hatch looked amazing, it was sprayed with a harbor freight gun (he used the harbor one because its a free paint job, no since in using the good guns) and he used it as a guinny pig for a new clear coat from dupont (a value priced version) and it layed down unbelievably smooth. (this was my hatch before it was done of course)
this picture was with no wetsanding or buffing, and look how little orange peel

and another photoshop i did lol, lowered on bottle caps

pull the glass, trust me. glass guys are always down for side jobs, and offer him like $180-$200 to pull/install them. half now, half on install. it only takes an hour or so, and spend like $65 on the new rear molding and upper front molding. no amount of precision taping will ever equal the quality of pulling the glass. within a few months you're gonna see something start chipping.

im not saying this one wont, im not saying that my other one didnt.
i understand the plusses of pulling the glass, i really would like to do it.
its just more than i want to put into it honestly.
if i was trying to make this a show car, i would go into more detail.
