Help-I think I may have gotten the wrong shocks
I'm about to install my Koni Yellows and I'm flipping through the shop manual and the illustrations of the rear shocks have a different mount at the bottom than my Konis. The illustration of the stock shocks shows a round mount with a bushing inside. My Konis have fork type mount (two prongs off the bottom of the shock with a bolt hole through them). Did I get the wrong shocks? Does anyone have part #'s handy? This is for an 89 Si.
you have dubble wishbone susp. look under the back tires and you should see what the shocks look like but it sounds like you have the right ones.
Oh, so the illustrations weren't from MY car, just one covered in the manual. Thanks. I actually found the part no's online and I have the correct ones. That would really have pissed me off.
The shocks for an 88 are what you described as in the shop manual. (The 88 has the ITR style Rear LCA's.) Whereas I thought the 89's and newer had the type of mount that you described your Konis having. You may have the right ones, but the shop manual illustration has only shown the ones from the 88? I may be mistaken but I was under the impression that the 88's were the only ones with the rear LCA's like this. Take a look under your car and see what's up.
