Default Yet another OBD0-OBD1 issue.... FML

I have done quite a bit of searching on and off H-T and cant quite find an answer relevant so here goes.
First off back history:
90 Civic Hatch STD w/ B16. Car ran for 2 years until the lack of oil ended its life. Never had an issue, ran great.

Fast forward to present day:
Another B16. Now converted to OBD1. The dizzy wires that were there prior to were junk, some didnt even use the factory harness. I went ahead an got a whole other dizzy pigtail and just made the harness OBD1 Dizzy (TD44u)
I installed the OBD0-1 jumper and wired the Vtec, Press s Switch, 4 wire o2, etc etc. The car has a virgin P28.

Now for the fun part:
The car will not start off the P28. Its spins over but will not start. Acts like it wants to but never does.
I plug in the OBD0 ECU and it starts first try. Yes, an OBD0 ecu is running off an OBD1 dizzy. All this tells me is the car is possessed and the timing and all that jazz are fine.

Has anyone heard/seen this?? Anything I should look at??

P28 codes are ELD and Lock-up Solenoid.

Sounds like you have a automatic ECU. Nevertheless it should still start/run. The OBD1 dizzy will work with nonOBD ECU since you have it either re-wired or have a plug conversion. the internals of the OBD1 dizzy are not that different. There are three sensors, a coil and igniter. All compatible.

What injectors are you using?

Correct, it is an auto ECu. Hence the code 19.
The injectors are the stock B16 units.

For the O2 sensor I used a new 4 wire Bosch universal sensor::
The Blue wire of the jumper (Heater control) went to the White wire of the O2 sensor.
The White wire of the jumper (O2 signal) went to black wire of the O2 sensor.

I plugged in a known good OBD1 ecu and it still didnt start. I put my P28 in another car ans it started right up. Meaning my ecu is still good. Im starting to think the dizzy is an OBD1 unit with OBD0 guts. I bought it used from someone local.

FML...

OBD1 or nonOBD stock b16 injectors?

If you take a pic of the dizzy with cap off, I can tell if its OBD1 or nonOBD

Did you cut the resistor box plug off and solder the wires together?

OK, I took the two distributors apart and they are different. The OBD1 has 25 teeth and the OBD0 had (if I remember right) 16. I was able to put it on the same test vehicle as before and it worked just fine. So the dizzy is good.

They are stock OBD0 injectors.

The resistor box was already installed before. Its the same one it ran on when the engine gave way. It also runs with the OBD0 ecu so there isnt anything wrong witht he fueling wiring. None of that was tampered with.

Time to go back into the dizzy harness and retrace everything. It has one of those eBay EF vtec harnesses so the wire colors werent exactly the same.

OK, I figured it out.....

So the e*** harness had the wire TOTALLY wrong. Out of the six wires only 2 were right. Im about to fix them and it should/better fire right up.

So if anyone is ever in a pinch, you can use an OBD0 ecu with an OBD1 dizzy if you only hook up the TDC sensor (orange/blue and white/blue). It WILL start and run, just run poorly. Think of it as a limp home

yay....
