restamping a jdm b16
ok im already bar'd for a b16 in my car but I recently I took it out to finish my right hand drive swap and 2 of my buddies got state reff'd. they both have b16a's in their eg hatches. so I put my set up in both of their cars and got them bar'd for a b16 also.
heres my thought. b16a_ why not just get a 3 punch and put a 3 in there after the a? if your motor is legit and not hot what would it matter? it would save you the hassle of having to go to the state ref every time you get pulled over?
any thoughts?

thats what I thought but california now states no jdm motors are legal in cali now. well why not just add a 3 to it and say it came out of a del sol. problem solved right?
highly illegal but I am not going to stop you. JDM engines are not completely illegal. The rules state that if your eg1 in American came with a b16 then a JDM b16 can be use for a replacement. Since here in America, the eg's never came with b16's from the factory therefore illegal. For a integra that originally came with a b18b1 or a b18c1, there jdm sister can be use for a replacement because the car originally came with a b18. Get it?

I doubt its possible w/o looking like **** next to the b16 stamp.
Were both your buddies popped in Bakersfield? Damn if so I need to watch out, I'm already bar'd with a jdm engine so I don't know if I'm fukked or what.
