Default help with 89 crx si seats

ok i just bought some 89 crx si seats but no rails, and i have a 88 honda hatch.
so my question is what rails do i need? i dont want to drill holes so please dont suggest that.
from what i understand 88 and 89 are interchangeable and 90 91 are interchangeable but not from the 80's to the 90's or vice versa cuz of the seatbelts or something and also about changin the pans but im not trying to do all that so please let me know and if so if u or someone u know has any let me know thanks

Well even with the 89 rails they wouldn't bolt into a hatch, you best bet would be to do a seat pan swap

Pictures are broken but the text gives you an idea on what to do.

Seat pan swap is not that difficult. It just takes a bit of research and patience. While your at it, repair any damaged inner foam in the Si seat. The door-side thigh bolster of the drivers seat is always worn down...

Yes you are gonna need the original seats. Unless you make some brackets or something, but that might be kinda hard since 89-91 CRX rails are very different than the 88-89 hatch.

ok so wat i need is any seats that bolt down right.(88-89)
then as soon as i get the pair take them all apart,
then specifically what do i do next?
i dont need to change the covers right?
just swap them and put them back?
i just took one apart because i have an old school civic seat the has rails
so i swapped the padding and it doesnt have the same groove and when u put the clips back for the cover it only has one place to clip so its a little different so what should i do i dont think it fits but the rails do. soooooooo fustrating i just get prolly would sell or trade them i need seats bad i have some eg seats for free if some one can help me resolve this pan isssue meaning gotta come and help me do it n get it done and their yours and yes ill pay for the pans or seats just let me know

Yes you need the original seats and rails from your car. Then you need to remove and disassemble the bottom half of both your original seats and your new Si seats. Then you need to install the new Si seat cushion and cover onto the original civic lower half frame. Now bolt your hybrid seat bottom onto the upper half of the Si seats. Now because you have new seats with the original lower frame, you easily bolt them to the car with the original seat slider brackets.

Or just sell them and buy Si hatchback seats...

ok here are some pictures.
top part

crx seat pan with the si cushion.

unknown seat on crx seat pan.

a view of the pans (let me know if that is the civc pan cuz idk)

and then right here the padding doesnt seem to budge.
is it a tight fit or should it go in no problems?

see the circle thats for the bracket on the old seat
do i need to cut the bottom seat cover and cushion on the si seat too?

did the whole process and when it came to putting them back together theres too much clearance idk how to explain and then i noticed it might of been for the wrong side i check the other one and looked like it when there but theres a big gap and the screws wont go in.
**** this i give up on it and dont have the money i need some seats with rails i guess **** it if they r the stock ugly ones hit me up if u find any and by the way ima put the seats back together and im going to sell so if any one wants to buy them let me know

LOL

I had the same problem. Try to fit the 90 Si hatch seats on my 89 CRX but the bolt that holds the upper seat is assemble at different location so you cannot do the seat pan swap with the Hatch vs. CRX unless you do some custom modification.

just did this on my 88 hatch.
I needed the driver side BADDD. i had 2 crx si seats and only the passenger was good so i had to use the frame (backrest and seat pan) from my old dx seats and put the padding and cloth from the crx si seat on the frame. In the process i just bent the frame in a little to fit me better and it came out better than the original crx si seat.
pretty good considering this is my "learner car" and i've never done upholstery.
my advice....seat pan swap, it'll take forever to find the right rails and most people dont sell seperately. driver side to driver side, passenger side to passenger side.
let me know if ya need help

p.s.- yeah the foam is a little tight fit... just force it in

and i could have sworn that they were civic si seats not crx si seats...anyone know for sure?
