Like I said before I just bought a EG with a B20b block and a b16 head. I dont know crap about honda cars so I need alot of help. I have a few questions that I hope you guys can help me with. The engine from my car came out of a 1998 CRV. I went to the store and I bought some stuff for a tune up for the car but i bought it for a 1998 honda crv i bought plugs wires distributor cap and a few other things. I havent installed them because I dont know if they are safe to put. Can you guys tell me if i can put them on with out messing up my b16 head? I'm also interested in buying this wires... Can I put them on? If i bought the wrong things what do i have to ask for when i want to do a tune up on the car?http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-32329/

you can't buy parts for a 98 crv because you are using a vtec head. crvs never came with vtec.
fist. what year is the head.
2nd obd1 or obd2 b16 head.
what distributor did the use.

 

from what i am familiar with is this, for bottom end parts buy them for the 98 crv. for top end parts buy them for a b16 (best example would be buy them for a 99-2000 SI). i'm sure some one with more experience can chime in to help more, but that's what makes the most sense to me, being that your top end is not from a crv any more.

oh ****... so the wires and the plugs i bought are not the right ones? I really dont know what year the B16 head is from How do I find out?

 

the head has stamps next to exhaust port #3 i think? the stamps indicate the year.... tell us what the stamps say.

Yep. You need B16 stuff for the head.

I would say that if you're running B20v, then it must be OBD1, and Honda didn't make an OBD1 B16 head in the US. It could be a 99-00 US head converted to OBD1, or it could be a previous year JDM head.

I would think you could use plugs/wires/cap/etc from any OBD1 B series vtec head, but maybe someone can correct me on that. If so, 94-01 Integra gsr plugs/etc will work. If not, then probably 99-00 Civic Si, although I'm not sure about the distributor... were the caps and rotors different between OBD1 and OBD2b?

EDIT: Yes, tell us what the stamps say. That will help.

 

It sounds like you should buy a personal mechanic. You obviously don't know a lot about cars period, not just Honda's. So take it somewhere and pay someone so you don't mess up yet another car.
