you can not compare them because they are different.
2.0 vtec turbo vs. all motor gsr 1.8? good comparison
find a video of a stock gsr vs. a stock b20

not true sir. mine was built properly in my EM1 and even revved to 8k once a week at least and lasted 3 years. I never had any problems. after that 3 years, I sold the car and that engine never failed me!
Not true?? I didn't say it would last exactly 3 years....thats good you got that use out of it. As mentioned, you must have had a good build and tune. How many clicks did you put on it? and how much boost? I'm interested, thanks
Nice, do you know how the car is doing now? Do you keep in contact with the new owner?
for example...
B20B $500
vtec head $400
tranny $300
Sleeve kit & labour $1000
HD clutch $500
gasket kit for rebuilt $100
vtec conversion parts ie- Golden Eagle $300
water pump/timing belt $180
ecu $100 plus chipping
engine management $$
turbo kit $$
labour to assemble the engine itself?? $$
Tuning $$
These last three could cost 5-6 g's
That whole conversion, i wouldn't exactly call that cheap!!
fully built B20 vtec rapes the K20 in cost, performance and reliability.
IF built properly. Ive seen a few B20 vtec builds with over 100k miles, thats an easy 8 month deal if you tracked it every weekend and the same car got you to work 60 miles away
....cough.....
no its not my car, I prefer single cams, though the cheapness of a B20 is nagging at me.

Why do you think a modded B20 would be cheap???
for example...

Get a P8R head, it flows the same as the vtec head, without having to convert
I posted what i did, cause you started off this thread with a boosted B20, thus, i show you what is really needed for such a setup
Hmm sounds interesting.

B20 500
vtec head 100-300, look for deals
vtec harness re wiring/adding the proper wires >5
no need to sleeve
aftermarket rods 200-400, depending on new/used and brand
machine work, polishing the crank, machining for clearances, head overhaul 400
chipped ecu 15-115 depending if bought chipped, if you have an OBD1 ecu already its only 15
wideband-100-300 depending on new/used and brand
you are looking at 1320 to about 1920. WAY cheaper then a K20 and reliable to 9k. add 150 for pistons and rings
again, no need to sleeve unless you are going to overbore or boost. 2 grand for a 2 liter hgih rev motor. ****ing deal, you cant even swap a damn civic dx to a B16 or B18 for that cheap with working parts, now with that 2 grand you have a rebuilt head and a potentially rebuilt motor, depending on teh parts cost
every part brand new, you are looking at close to 3 grand, thats with a fresh head, pistons, rings, bearings, crank work, water pump, oil pump, etc...
only a crackhead thinks thats expensive. a proper motor and head is always around this cost, hell it can take a grand to completely freshen up a d16z6, so this WAY better motor setup is a piece of cake to your wallet
EDIT forgot to add a transmission in there, add 100-300 for the cost total. buy the damn things used and rebuild them for 100 bucks in parts for a nice fresh tranny. use a manual b18 (NOT B16) transmission for best results, teh b16 tranny simply is a tire roaster. B16 tranny with this setup is utter garbage unless you are running slicks
People WAY underestimate this setup's potential, bioth on teh street and strip
