anyone know how you reverse the mileage on a gauge cluster? i got a new cluster but its at 170k and my original is around 110k

 

thats called odometer tampering and its illegal.

 

Put the Car on jack stands, and drive in reverse.

 

Actually, it's not illegal to have a new cluster match the actual mileage on the vehicle. Now, if you lower the mileage on a cluster to less than what your vehicle actually has, then that is another story.. I have the Honda programming equipment to program gauge clusters, but it doesn't go backwards, sorry.. You would be better off buying a junkyard cluster with less mileage and getting it programmed up to your correct mileage..

i did it to my eg for a new motor I built and wanted to have it set at 0

 

the odometer is not for the engine. its for the entire vehicle.

 

I drive a 95 hatch that I got with a gsr swapped cluster. I will never know how many miles it has on it. im gonna assume a **** load. id rather keep tract of the miles on my motor than the shell
