Default Blown d16y8...need motor

I have a 98 civic ex with a blown d16y8. I was thinking about putting a D15b in it, as I cant find a cheap USDM motor, and need to know exactly which one will work with this car. I'm told that some will be a direct drop in replacement using my intake and distributor. I'm looking for cheap.

Everything in the junkyards around here is horribly overpriced, I'm looking to get something online. I want decent value as well as cheap. Figure around $700 shipped. Less is better.

Would this be ok? Any mods other than using my original distributor and intake?

well it depends, is it just your bottom end damaged or did the head go with it?

I'm pretty sure the oil pump went out and every bearing in it is done.

look on craigslist.
people are always selling single cam motors for dirt cheap because they're doing a swap.
do the swap yourself

I intend to do the swap myself. There is nothing decent on craigslist locally. I just need to know which d15b I need.

couldnt he grab a z6 motor and mount his trans on it? (if that hasnt went out yet)

z6's usually have more miles on them (88 i think - 95) but honda motors usually are long life majority of the time

z6 motors can go for like 500-600 plus shipping on ebay (trans included
