1990 ACCORD Passenger seat belt.
When passenger door is opened seat belt does not retract to open position. Honda Tech replaced the slide latch mechinism on life time warranty. The latch will move from open to closed if manually moved there. But stopped short of repair completion staing that Honda america said completion of fix was warranty. The tech said to try the SB chime warning module under passenger seat and the door light sw.. I replaced both problem not fixed same issue I don't understand this at all. Any other ideas. I am thinking a possible sw on the slide rail.
Well since there is no one on this forum that can answer or give advice to this question. I will answer it for my self and possibly stir some thinking.
Sympton: Seat belt does not move to forward or open door position. Since seatbelts are lifetime warranty went to honda. they replaced the slide latch which didnt fix the problem. From there they said Honda America said ok must be electrical problem not warranty anymore. Honda wanted $260.00 to diagnose the problem. Checked electrial connections with DVM, after 5hrs found out that the door latch assembly is in the circuit for door open/close. Door open latch moves to forward position. Door closed door moves to rear position. Wether door closed or open saw no change in slide position. Jumped out switch and slide moved to forward position. Problem identified, cost new 345.00 factory. Will check other source and call Honda and ask if they will cover with warranty. Hope this helps anyone else. I am not being insulting people I just thought there were honda technicians on this site that had answers.
