i go to auto auctions, i personally go by "the black book"
the price i would try to buy at, and then resell it it usually right at kbb's trade in 'good' shape. in your case, i'd offer you 15,100 for it, then price it to make money
about a year ago my freind(jdmjim, he's actually listed on this page at a vouch for i-vtec dohc) paid 17k for a 07 4dr, so this time now a 08 should be the same
your ALWAYS better to sell it yourself than trade in...stealerships will rob you blind!
especially carmax, who is owned by walmart, i've been told

Look at the quote above
Which is generally $3,000 below KBB trade value, much lower on Luxury and high end vehicles.

This "black book" is the way to go.
To find it on the web, go to www.cudirect.com
then scroll down and look to the right side of the page. There you will see the "black book" link.
Now, I will attempt to attach that link here, but I may be unsuccessful:

Good luck, getting a dealer to buy your trade-in for what he can pay for it at auction. Sell it outright and buy your next car without a trade-in.

used car dealers are stupid like that.... Why would you pay more for an auction car than someone selling it privately?
One of the first things I ask when shopping for used cars is, where did you get it? If the car is from an auction, chances they know absolutely zero about the car other than what meets the eye.
If used car dealers bought cars privately, they can make an agreement for answers to prospecitve buyers questions, service history, etc....

or probably the front and rear right side wheels are curb'ed.
A new SI sedan with Nav is around 25k USD before taxes. So they have to take your used car, buy it off you, sell it and make a profit. That is before you even begin to think about taxes (which are not exactly buyer friendly)
You car in only 1 years old has got 25,000 miles, thats not exactly lightly driven. At your pace, when that car is 4 years old its already 100,000 miles. It took my last car over 8 years to hit 100,000 miles (well 160,000km, but I am Canadian).
Next, they have to make a profit on most cars that they buy in order to stay above negative, if they offer you 20k, how much do you think they will make on your car?
Selling it privately would yield you a greater amount, because your not selling it to a business who wants to make money on it.
