Here are the details:

When – August 22
Where - Silver Dollar Raceway
Who - Anyone who likes to race and has a vehicle that qualifies(see rules)
What – See Rules
How much - Buy a tech card which is $25 (including entry fee to the track). If you want to run in the index race it will be an additional $15

SOHC Rules:
1. Vehicle must be powered by one single cam piston engine
2. Displacement limited to 2.4 Liters
3. Multiple power adders allowed
4. FWD Slicks allowed, maximum size 26 inches, RWD drag radials or street tires
5. NHRA sportsman style ladder will be used after 2 qualifying runs. 8 car field, if over 12 cars will do a 16 car field.

Payout will be as follows:
$15 from each entry will be put in a pot and from there
The winner gets 50%
Runner up gets 30%]
Semifinalists get 10% each

In addition:
JJSPEC Racing will pay an additional $100 to winner
Go Autoworks is going to pay $50 for best 60'
JJSPEC Racing will pay $20 for best reaction time
Top dead Center Perf. in Mobile AL will pay $50 for best mph

Trophies for Winner. Runner up, Best R/T and 60 will be given out also

and possibly putting the winners from the single cam and dual cam race against each other for bragging rights

$25 tech card, of which $15 from every tech card will be put back in for a purse - 50% to the winner, 30% to 2nd, and 10% each for 3rd and 4th

In addition to the regular payout Import Atlanta would like to add $100 to the winner of the DOHC class.
Lightning Motorsports is giving (DOHC Class):
$20 gift certificate for Best R/T
$50 gift certificate for best 60 foot
$50 gift certificate for highest mph

I really wish ver2.0 was 2.0 states closer to me, 14.5 hours of driving one way doesn't sound very fun.

 

my drive will b 12.5 hours one way! it will b so worth it!!!!!

 

This one will be alot better. Especially if more people come. The prize money will be better, as well as the entertainment.

I have driven to St Louis and much farther(NJ), so I feel what you are saying. I have been in a vehicle for 24 hours when we had issues going to E town but it turned out to be an awesome time.
You planning on making it? Awesome!
If we have enough people come in Friday, we will have to all get together, kinda like the old days when people came to national events. Meet up, have a good meal, hang out, and race the next day. Maybe hang out that night too. Gonna be fun!

I talked to Jimmy earlier and we are planning on making it for this one! It will be a 10.5 hour drive for us. We our racing this weekend at IMSTAR. Hopefully we don't break anything. If everything goes right, We will come down and surprise alot of people! lol.

We just drove 9.5 with no sleep for 2 days, slept and drove back two weeks ago and it was worth it. So maybe I will make the trip after I see how the car is running, if I can get work off.
