I need help figuring out way there is such a long pause before the car will crank. When i turn the key the car will not crank, I have to hold the key turned for about 3-5 seconds before the car turns over. But when it does finally crank it starts up fine. Any ideas?

 

might be your starter,starter relay,ecu or main relay going bad...!!!

Do the lights on the cluster dim for those few seconds?
Sounds like starter, just asking more info.

 

hapends to me, ended up being a loose ground from my tranny to my chasis. i say put "check grounds" on you checklist. but before i figured out it was the ground i changed my starter and my main relay, so i would at least check your main grounds before changing yoru starter, including ur battery ground. good luck.
