The race car is going drag racing, hahaha
yep, it's true, a bunch of friends of mine convinced me to try my hand at drag racing, albeit less exciting as road racing/autocrossing, it should be quite interesting.
I'm just curious how my 2061lb crx with a B16A will do. I'm thinking mid-high 14s...any slower and some of my friends I road race/autocross with are gonna have to get new cars.
And considering i'll be running a pro-tree...

welcome to the other side.
mid 14s sounds right. Remember there IS driving skill involved! and those markers in the middle of the track arent slalom cones!

I'm gonna feel weird with my race numbers on the doors... i hope tech doesn't get mad
it's one of those events to stop people from street racing, so they set up the tree to act more like a street race.
i did crappy, low 15s (15.2@92mph to be exact)... the autocross alignment hates drag racing.

Another cool road-racey thing to do at the strip is, if you are on drag radials or slicks, test your maximum braking at the end of your run. Such tires are the best for longitudinal traction, whether it is accelerating or braking in a straight line.
And yes, I have tried taking the turn-off at the limit, and I was told to slow down. I was going to show them the SCCA licence, but didnt....

it's just the alignment on the CRX isn't good for drag racing.

You must have been driving a rocket powered car to get a .5 60 foot. I think you mean reaction time... which has nothing to do with your ET. Practice launching the car and your time's will come down...
