Default Prelude's back to life

Long story but basically I bought my girlfriend this car to use while I was working on her car and about 5 months later she wrecks it. The good thing is my insurance gave me more than I paid for it and they didn't even raise my insurance. They also let me buy it back for 800. Here's the before and after pics.

Looks real good. I probably wouldn't have gone with a sky/baby blue color as my first choice, but the car still looks good, plus you did the paint job right the first time by doing all the door jams and trunk, but I assume you didn't do the engine bay? I also like the infamous garage paint booth. Works great as long as your neighbors don't call the city ordinance on you like mine did

Thanks! The color is Lamborghini Blue Ely Metallic. And in case anyone was wondering, I used PPG DPLF as a sealer, PPG DBC base, and PPG 2021 Concept clear. I wasn't too concerned about the color cause I'm not keeping the car. I just bought it back from insurance to resale after I was done. I do this every so often for extra cash. I was unsure about the color too but I took a chance cause I don't like spraying the same colors or common colors that most people always choose and it turns out a lot of people like it. I already had offers on it from friends before I even cut and buffed it out. In fact I may soon be painting an 09 GTR in that same color. Here's a pic of it in my driveway below with my wife sitting in it.

No, I did not do the engine bay. I not about to remove the engine. If it was a car I was building for myself I would but this is for a resale. It was black anyway so it doesn't matter. I've also started to noticed that a few factory cars are comming with black engine bays now. The GTR below has a black engine bay.

As for painting in my garage, my neighbors never had an issue. All my neighbors are cool about it. I've even painted for them for small parts like bumpers and quarter panels.

Oh and as for the other question in the above post about how long this took me, I don't really have an answer for you. I only do this on the side on my free time or when I feel like working on it. I didn't really add up the hours. Cars are just my hobby and I do this when I see an opportunity to make extra cash. Basically sometimes I work on it like once or twice one week for anywhere between 3 and 8 hours and sometimes one to three weeks go by without me working on it at all.

I wish I had some neighbors like you. I bet if I fixed a few things for mine, they wouldn't care, but I don't even talk to them, so I'm usually painting in the evening when everyone is inside, cause you know how bad that clear can stink up a whole block.

Definitely keep us posted about repainting the GT-R, cause that probably won't look too bad if you painted it the same color.
